experience in researching media, political and corporate corruption, as well
as the interconnections between them.
Laura Ranca is a trainer and investigator with 20 years of experience in researching media, political and corporate corruption, as well as the interconnections between them. She has worked in Eastern Europe, Africa and South America, collaborating across borders with journalists, activists and technologists to expose wrongdoing. She now specializes and trains others in using OSINT methods and tools to document and investigate publicly available information and enhance transparency in the public interest.
Laura has previously worked with non-profit journalistic outlets and academic research institutions as well as with international organisations and funders focused on supporting local and cross-border investigative reporting. At Tactical Tech, she is part of the Exposing the Invisible project team, where she trains, investigates and helps develop cross-border collaborative projects with media and NGOs worldwide. Laura holds MA degrees in Media Policy and International Relations and speaks English, French, Spanish and Romanian.
