Central Library of Srečko Vilhar Koper is the central general library of the Municipality of Koper and the central regional library of the Coastal-Karst region. It was founded in 1951 and is still the largest public library in Slovenian Istria. The entire collection of the library comprises 300,000 items of library material. As the central regional library, the Koper library also carries out special tasks for the public libraries of the Coastal-Karst region and expertly connects these libraries in a regional network that ensures the coordinated implementation of library activities.
