The Portuguese edition of the Audio/Video NGO-in-a-box is dedicated to the memory of Kerry Asby who was tragically killed in motor cycle accident in May 2006. He was 33 years old.

Kerry loved bikes, initially road and mountain biking and latterly motor bikes. He knew the danger associated with these sports but loved their freedom and challenge. After discovering Open Source software, the philosophy and the world wide community around it, he became an enthusiastic user. He took and passed the Linux Professional Institute Certification examination on 9th May 2006, just a few days before his death.

Kerry had some South American ancestry and frequently volunteered at a Community Centre near his home. His family and friends therefore believe that he would be very happy if, in his memory, help was given to young people in their communities in a south American country to improve their quality of life through access to open source software.
